Biostimulators
Biostimulators are treatments or substances that specifically promote skin regeneration. Unlike fillers, they do not add volume but instead stimulate fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin. These include poly-L-lactic acid (e.g. Sculptra), polynucleotides, PRP/PRF, exosomes, and nano- and microfat. Energy-based procedures such as radiofrequency and needling also exert a biostimulatory effect. The aim is natural skin rejuvenation with improved texture and density. Biostimulators are often combined to address different layers of the skin and are suitable both as a preventative measure and as a complement to surgical procedures.
