Firmer contours with radiofrequency, needling, HIFU, biostimulators, and more.
You stand in front of the mirror, gently pulling at the skin on your abdomen or thighs, and wish it would stay right there. Many people know this moment. After weight loss, pregnancies, during the menopause, or with increasing age, tissue loses its elasticity — noticeably and visibly. Exercise and creams alone cannot achieve tightening. Modern aesthetic methods can — such as Quantum, BodyTite, HIFU,
Morpheus 8
, or
Sculptra
. Without surgery, on an outpatient basis, and usually with no downtime. Well suited
for mild to moderate skin laxity and as a preventive measure
.

Our treatments in Düsseldorf
Depending on skin condition, area, and desired outcome, we combine energy-based skin tightening (ultrasound, radiofrequency) with biostimulation.
1. Quantum Body (focused radiofrequency)
Using targeted radiofrequency energy, we stimulate collagen production while simultaneously tightening the deeper skin layers. Particularly effective for the abdomen, upper arms, and thighs.
2. BodyTite (radiofrequency
lipolysis
)
BodyTite is based on bipolar radiofrequency. This "liquefies" unwanted fat cells while tightening the skin in the same treatment step. Suitable for mild to moderate laxity. Also used as a follow-up treatment after
liposuction
.
3.
Morpheus 8
(RF
microneedling
)
A deep-acting combination of medical needling and radiofrequency. Specifically designed to tighten tissue in more sensitive areas of the body, such as the arms, knees, or décolletage.
4. HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound)
Highly focused (concentrated) ultrasound tightens the skin without damaging the surface. The treatment is extremely gentle and comfortable. Suitable for areas such as the abdomen, flanks, and upper arms.
5.
Sculptra
(biostimulator)
Injections of poly-L-lactic acid stimulate the body's own collagen production. Long-lasting, with sustained results. Ideal for volume loss and to improve skin firmness.
When does non-surgical body tightening make sense?
Our non-surgical treatments are suitable when:
mild to moderate skin laxity is present
surgery is not desired or not medically necessary
skin areas need tightening after pregnancy, weight loss, or
liposuction
preventive treatment is desired for early connective tissue weakness
When does non-surgical body tightening make sense?
The process at artethic® in four steps
1. Consultation & skin analysis
We assess the affected areas and discuss which method or combination is most appropriate.
2. Your treatment plan
We draw up a clear treatment plan and walk you through each individual step.
3. Treatment
The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis and is virtually pain-free. Depending on the method, a local anaesthetic may be required — this is something we will discuss with you beforehand.
4. Aftercare & results review
Follow-up appointments one to two months after treatment are advisable so that we can assess the results and plan any additional sessions if needed.
Your consultation at artethic® Dr. Schuhmann & Kollegen

For advanced contour and skin diagnostics, we use
VECTRA®. A 3D scanning system
with which we can map your body silhouette in precise detail. This allows us to identify which areas show greater skin laxity, where contour definition has been lost, and where volume is distributed asymmetrically. The analysis informs the planning of your treatment — and enables us to show you realistic before-and-after images even before your first session. Frequently asked questions
How long do the results of body tightening last?
Depending on the method and skin condition, results can remain visible for several months to years. A top-up treatment may be beneficial after 12–18 months.
What side effects are possible?
Temporary redness, mild swelling, or tenderness are possible, but these typically subside within a few days.
Is non-surgical body tightening also suitable after liposuction?
Yes, this applies in particular to Quantum, Morpheus 8, and BodyTite. These methods are well suited for tightening and follow-up treatment — for example, when the skin does not fully retract after liposuction.
Is the treatment painful?
The treatments mentioned are very well tolerated. If needed — depending on the method and for sensitive skin — we can prepare your skin with either a topical anaesthetic cream or a light local anaesthetic.
What is the difference compared with surgical body tightening?
Energy-based treatments and biostimulators are frequently minimally invasive, carrying very few side effects or only minor risks. The treatments are carried out on an outpatient basis at our practice in Düsseldorf. In most cases, you can resume your normal activities immediately afterwards. Surgical body tightening is different: here, you should allow for several days of recovery and, if necessary, a brief stay in a clinic (we work with specialist partner clinics in Düsseldorf). The gentler methods are suitable for early or moderate laxity. Where there is significant excess skin, a surgical procedure may be the better option. If you are unsure, we will advise you openly and in detail.
Can I have several body areas treated at the same time?
Yes, this is possible — for example, the abdomen and thighs. We are happy to draw up a coordinated treatment plan for you.
When will the first results be visible?
Initial tightening effects become visible with most treatments within a few weeks. The full effect — particularly with biostimulation such as Sculptra — develops over several months.
When is surgical body tightening the better choice?
When significant excess skin, severely lax tissue, or skin folds are present following major weight loss. In such cases, surgical body tightening may be the more appropriate option — for example, an abdominoplasty, thigh lift, or arm lift.
How does non-surgical body tightening differ from lipolysis, and can the two be combined?
With lipolysis, we can reduce smaller localised fat deposits. Non-surgical body tightening serves to firm the tissue. Both can be combined — for example, where skin has become lax following fat-dissolving injections. We will discuss together what makes sense and when, during your consultation in Düsseldorf.
