What are the costs involved in breast surgery?
The total cost includes the breast operation, anaesthesia, the costs for the surgical team, as well as any overnight stay costs and post-operative complication insurance. We can determine the price as part of your individual consultation. In certain circumstances, costs may also be covered by private health insurance.
Are instalment payments and post-operative complication insurance available?
We work with competent, reputable financing partners. You may be able to pay for your breast operation in comfortable instalments. Post-operative complication insurance is always included as part of our total costs.
When is breast augmentation with implants advisable, and when is autologous fat transfer more suitable?
The decision depends on various factors such as anatomy, existing fat deposits, the desired breast volume, and the desired shape. Implants are suitable for significant breast enlargement. Autologous fat transfer is an option for moderate volume increases. Depending on the individual situation, combinations (hybrid) may also be appropriate.
Can the implant be felt or sensed?
Immediately after the operation, a heightened sense of tension and a sensation of a foreign body are possible. As healing progresses, the tissue will soften. In very slim patients, the edge may remain palpable. An optimally selected implant reduces this risk.
How safe are modern breast implants?
Modern silicone implants use cohesive silicone gels, in which the gel is cross-linked in such a way that it does not leak into the surrounding tissue even if damaged. Leakage is unlikely with modern materials.
How long do breast implants last?
Provided no damage, complications, or changes in shape occur, no automatic replacement is required. With the latest implant materials, a 10-year replacement is not necessary.
Above or below the muscle – which position is better?
The optimal position depends on your anatomical proportions. Partial or complete placement beneath the pectoral muscle offers better coverage where tissue is thin. Where tissue thickness is sufficient, placement above the muscle is possible.
How large can I choose my implant to be?
The implant size should be in keeping with your body frame and skin structure. Implants that are too large increase risks such as shape irregularities or postural problems. We recommend a size that is in harmony with a natural appearance.
How long does breast surgery take?
Depending on the method and the starting situation, the duration of surgery is usually between 60 and 180 minutes. In most cases, a short inpatient overnight stay is advisable; depending on the procedure, it may also be performed on an outpatient basis.
When may I resume exercise?
Light everyday activities are usually possible again after 1–2 weeks. Sport and strenuous movements should not be resumed until at least 4–6 weeks after the procedure, depending on the operation, and always in consultation with your surgeon.
