Thread Lift & Sculptra®: sustainable liquid lifting without surgery

The combination of mechanical thread lifting and biostimulating Sculptra® (poly-L-lactic acid) strengthens the skin from within and restores volume.

The practice recommends this combination over conventional methods, as satisfaction with standard treatments often lasts only a few weeks before the skin begins to sag again.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced collagen production for lasting support
  • Fewer threads, more substance
  • Longer-lasting results, particularly for the cheeks and temples

PDO thread lift – facial tightening with threads to stimulate collagen production

pdo faeden produkte

The treatment uses PDO threads, which are placed beneath the skin to achieve skin tightening and wrinkle treatment with minimal discomfort and a short treatment duration. Sessions last between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the number of threads used.

Local anaesthesia is required. Small entry points are made to allow the threads to be positioned, which are then carefully tensioned before the excess ends are trimmed.

Which areas can be tightened with a thread lift?

Who is a suitable candidate for a thread lift?

A thread lift works best when skin elasticity has begun to diminish but facial features are still well defined. Ideal candidates are women between the ages of 40 and 60 with mild laxity who are looking to improve and tighten their facial contours. The technique effectively achieves a subtle brow lift that previously required a surgical procedure.

How much does a thread lift cost?

The cost of a thread lift varies considerably. The price depends on how many areas are to be treated and how many PDO threads are used for the facial thread lift or body skin tightening without surgery. I will be able to provide you with a personalised price following our consultation, once we have discussed your wishes and expectations and decided together which treatment is most suitable for you.

Thread lift in Düsseldorf: how the treatment works

The process of a thread lift in Düsseldorf may vary depending on the desired outcome and individual needs. The treatment is generally performed under local anaesthesia. The procedure takes between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on how many threads are inserted and how many areas are treated.

Local anaesthesia is necessary for a thread lift to ensure a pain-free experience. Small punctures are made in the skin through which the PDO threads are introduced. The threads are guided into position either manually or with the aid of specialist needles. Once the PDO threads are in place, they are carefully tensioned to achieve the desired degree of skin tightening. The excess thread ends are then trimmed.

What should I be aware of after a thread lift?

After a thread lift mild swelling and bruising may occur. These should be cooled immediately after treatment to promote rapid reduction of swelling. Just a few days after your thread lift, your skin will look youthful and firm. Following a thread lift, most patients are socially presentable immediately or within approximately one week, depending on the areas treated. In general, you may resume your normal activities straight after a thread lift, although it is advisable to avoid strenuous physical activity and sun exposure for a few days.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a thread lift take?

A thread lift takes only approximately 10–30 minutes. The duration of the treatment depends on how many PDO threads are inserted for tightening. A distinction is made between neck, lower jaw line, and mid-face thread lifts. The entry points for the PDO threads are concealed either behind the ear or within the hairline.

What can I expect to look like after a thread lift?

In the first few days following a thread lift, occasional redness, haematomas, and swelling of the face may occur. As a precautionary measure, the treated areas can be gently cooled after the thread lift treatment. Never apply ice directly to the skin; always wrap the ice pack in a cloth. The recommended cooling pattern is 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off.

How many threads are needed for a thread lift?

The number of PDO threads required for a thread lift varies considerably. For a jowl thread lift, 2–3 PDO threads per side of the face are typically needed. This allows you to address sagging jowls effectively. Jowl tightening without surgery is possible with a thread lift and also with a HIFU treatment.

How often does a thread lift need to be repeated?

A thread lift should be repeated at regular intervals to maintain the excellent result. Depending on skin type and condition, the tightening effect can last for up to two years. The treatment can be repeated as often as desired and provides a sustainably firmer skin appearance.

Can a thread lift break?

PDO threads are designed to adapt to the surrounding tissue and follow facial movements. The risk of a PDO thread breaking is therefore very low.

Is a thread lift permanent?

A thread lift is a highly effective, non-permanent form of facial tightening. The threads stimulate the skin's collagen production and form a kind of supporting framework. After some time, the lifting threads are resorbed by the body, which is why the thread lift is not permanent.

Are the threads visible after a thread lift?

The PDO threads are inserted into the deeper layers of tissue within the skin, known as the SMAS layer. It is at this same deep level that the SMAS facelift for facial tightening is also performed.

How long does a thread lift last?

A thread lift lasts between 1 and 3 years. How long the result lasts precisely varies from person to person. The longevity of a thread lift also depends on which threads are used. When tension threads are used, the thread lift lasts longer, as these threads are positioned deep within the skin, in the so-called SMAS layer.

When will the thread lift results be visible?

The results of a thread lift are generally visible immediately and continue to improve over time, as the threads stimulate collagen production.
