Radiofrequency
Radiofrequency is based on electrical energy that is converted into heat within the tissue. This heat acts in the deeper layers of the skin without placing excessive strain on the skin surface. As a result of the heating, existing collagen fibres contract slightly. At the same time, the formation of new collagen and elastin is stimulated. Over time, the skin gains firmness and structure. Depending on the device, the treatment is applied superficially only, or in combination with medical needling. With systems such as Morpheus8, fine needles penetrate the skin and deliver the energy directly at depth. This allows for a more intensive treatment of individual areas. Typical indications include areas of lax skin on the face, neck, or body, as well as fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture. In cases of acne scarring, radiofrequency treatment can gently smooth the skin surface. The effect develops gradually. Initial visible results often become apparent after a few weeks, whilst the tissue continues to regenerate and remodel over several months. For a stable outcome, multiple sessions are generally advisable. During treatment, a degree of warmth and possibly a mild pulling sensation may be felt. Many systems incorporate integrated cooling or precisely modulated energy delivery to protect the skin during the procedure. After treatment, redness frequently occurs, which subsides within a short time. The intensity is adjusted to suit skin type, treatment area, and individual goals. Careful planning is important in order to achieve a balanced and natural-looking result.
