Neck Tightening Düsseldorf

Neck Lift Düsseldorf | Neck Tightening | With and Without Surgery

The neck shows the natural aging process particularly clearly. The skin loses its firmness, the muscle band (platysma) becomes visible. Fat tissue often accumulates on the chin – the chin-neck contour "blurs". If skin sagging has progressed, non-surgical treatments are often not sufficient. Here, surgical neck lifting can be an effective and long-lasting solution. At artethic® Dr. Schuhmann & Colleagues, we operate using the latest methods. This means: gentle, long-lasting effective, with your natural appearance in focus.

What happens during a surgical neck lift?

During surgical neck lifting (cervicoplasty or platysmaplasty), we remove excess skin, tighten the muscle bands and reduce fat deposits if necessary, for example in the area of the double chin.

Tightening Methods "Neck Lift Surgery"

SMAS Technique (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System): This method is particularly suitable for severely sagging tissue. We tighten the skin and simultaneously the deeper muscle-connective tissue layer. The result: stable, long-lasting tightening.

Platysmaplasty (direct muscle tightening): If the middle muscle band (platysma) visibly separates, targeted tightening of the muscles is advisable. Often combined with a full facelift or through a small incision under the chin.

Combination with Facelift: the Full Facelift - It is often advisable to combine neck lift and facelift. With the full facelift, face and neck are harmoniously tightened – in one procedure. The goal is a harmonious overall picture – without visible transitions between tightened face and untreated neck.

When is a surgical neck lift advisable?

A surgical procedure is appropriate when: significant skin sagging or excess skin exists, the muscles (platysma) are visibly sagging, a double chin or fat deposits are present, a harmonious result with longer-lasting effect is desired, or minimally invasive procedures have been exhausted or are not sufficiently effective.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the result of a surgical neck lift last?

A surgical neck lift lasts for many years. Although the tissue continues to age, the improved contour and firmness remain clearly visible. Tightening treatments with radiofrequency or ultrasound (HIFU) can possibly extend the durability further.

How visible are the scars?

The incisions are placed so that they are barely noticeable later – usually behind the ear or in natural skin folds under the chin.

Are there alternatives to surgical neck lifting?

For slight sagging or also for prevention, Quantum RF is a good option. An individual skin analysis and consultation are absolutely necessary for this.

What risks exist with surgical neck lifting?

As with any surgical procedure, bruising, swelling or wound healing disorders can occur. These are rare with experienced execution and easily treatable.

Can I work or exercise after surgery?

After approx. 10-14 days you are usually able to work again. Sports and physical exertion should be avoided for at least two weeks.

Where does the surgery take place?

We perform neck lifting either on an outpatient basis in our practice or at one of our cooperating clinics – Privatklinik Bel Etage or Klinik Neuer Stahlhof in Düsseldorf.

Is a combination with other procedures possible?

Yes. We often combine neck lifting with a facelift, liposuction under the chin or eyelid surgery. This achieves a harmonious overall picture with only one recovery phase.

How can I prepare for surgery?

Before the procedure, we will explain everything thoroughly. Important: Please avoid nicotine and blood-thinning medications and plan for one to two quiet weeks after surgery.
