Anesthesia

Anesthesia describes the controlled elimination of pain sensation, consciousness, or both: a 'numbing' that enables medical procedures. In plastic surgery, various methods are used depending on the procedure and patient condition, from local anesthesia to sedation (twilight sleep) to general anesthesia.
