Injection Lipolysis
Injection lipolysis ("fat-dissolving injection") is used to reduce small fat deposits that do not respond to diet or exercise. A lipolytic agent, usually phosphatidylcholine-based, is injected into the subcutaneous adipose tissue, where it breaks down fat cells. Results become visible after several weeks. The method is not a substitute for liposuction, but can be employed in localised areas, for example the double chin or the hip region.
