Liposuction
With liposuction, we can permanently remove unwanted fat cells. The treatment is not a means of general weight reduction. Individual areas of the body can be shaped, slimmed, or contoured (including as part of body contouring). In our practice, we work with very fine cannulas and controlled negative pressure. The fat cells are gently loosened. Depending on the technique, additional vibration-assisted or water-assisted methods may be employed. The removed fat cells do not grow back at the treated site. The body does not form new fat cells to any appreciable extent during adulthood. However, in the event of subsequent weight gain, the remaining fat cells can enlarge. In conjunction with the treatment and for long-lasting results, maintaining as stable a body weight as possible is advisable. In addition to volume reduction, liposuction allows the contouring of transitions and silhouettes. To this end, fat can be reduced in one area and used in another to improve the shape. Following the procedure, wearing compression garments is important. These assist the skin in adapting to the new contour, reduce swelling, and stabilise the tissue during the healing phase.
