Lipofilling
Lipofilling is the transplantation of the patient's own adipose tissue to a different area of the body. Following gentle liposuction, the harvested fat is processed, purified, and re-introduced (injected) into the tissue in fine layers. A proportion of the transplanted fat cells integrate into the surrounding tissue and thus remain permanently, whilst another proportion is broken down by the body within the first few weeks. Lipofilling is a biological procedure: the tissue (fat cells) is autologous and therefore very well tolerated, and the results are highly natural in appearance. In addition to the volumising effect, the overall skin texture improves, as adipose tissue contains stromal cell fractions (which promote skin regeneration) and growth factors.
