Mastoptosis
Mastoptosis refers to the drooping of the breast, colloquially described as "sagging breasts". The causes are usually age-related changes in connective tissue, pregnancies, weight fluctuations, or genetic factors. The skin loses its elasticity, the glandular breast tissue descends, and the nipple may be positioned below the natural inframammary fold. Surgical correction is achieved by means of a breast lift (mastopexy). Excess skin is removed and the tissue is reshaped. Depending on the findings, a lift may be combined with volume augmentation using implants or autologous fat. The aim of the treatment is a harmonious breast shape that is in proportion to the body.
