Augmentation

Augmentation is a surgical or minimally invasive enlargement of a body area. In plastic surgery, this usually involves the breast, buttocks, or facial areas such as the lips or cheekbones. The treatment goal is both volume increase and improvement of shape and contour (defined rather than soft or undefined). Augmentation can be performed with implants, autologous fat, or fillers such as hyaluronic acid. Most important are the initial conditions and realistic planning of the procedure based on anatomical features. Harmonious and natural-looking proportions are another crucial consideration.
