Cellulite
Cellulite (medical term: Dermopanniculosis deformans), also known as orange-peel skin, is caused by changes in the connective tissue that lead to dimpling on the thighs, buttocks, or abdomen. The subcutaneous adipose tissue is affected. Cellulite occurs primarily (80–90 per cent) in women. Weak connective tissue or excess weight are contributing factors. Depending on the degree of severity, suitable treatments include medical radiofrequency (e.g. Morpheus 8), microneedling, HIFU (medical ultrasound), or collagen stimulators (Sculptra skin tightening) for skin tightening and, depending on the treatment approach, for fat reduction.
