Elastin
Elastin is an important structural protein of the connective tissue and is responsible for the elasticity and recoil of the skin. Unlike collagen, elastin is only produced to a very limited extent. With advancing age, its function diminishes, leading to skin laxity and loss of firmness. With modern regenerative treatments, we can slow the breakdown of elastin, support the formation of new elastic fibres, and stabilise the interplay with collagen fibres. These approaches include biostimulators, PRP, autologous exosomes, medical radiofrequency (e.g. Quantum RF, Morpheus8), as well as certain skin boosters or medical microneedling. A selection of treatment approaches at artethic Dr. Schuhmann & Kollegen: Biostimulators (e.g. poly-L-lactic acid, polynucleotides) to activate the body's own collagen and elastin synthesis Bio-remodelling with Profhilo to improve skin structure Radiofrequency needling (e.g. Morpheus8, Quantum RF) to stimulate deeper tissue layers Autologous fat transfer for pronounced structural and volume loss
