A school project to inspire others: 13 children at Grundschule Heggerfeld completed a multi-day first aid course. At the end, Dr. Karl Schuhmann presented four professional first aid kits so that what had been learnt could be put into practice straight away.
First Aid at Eye Level
Trainer André Steffens showed the children how to apply bandages, perform the recovery position, and make emergency calls correctly. Through role play, colouring books, and plenty of hands-on practice, any inhibitions were overcome – enthusiasm included.
Donation Strengthens School Life
After passing their "test", Dr. Schuhmann's team surprised the junior first aiders with four new kits. These are now displayed prominently around the school and are available to all classes – for minor scrapes as well as genuine emergencies.
Why Early First Aid Matters
Children learn quickly to take responsibility. Those who practise first aid at an early age will help without hesitation later on – whether in the school playground or at a sports club. Projects like this ensure that helping others becomes second nature.
