Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis refers to excessive sweat production that exceeds the normal level of temperature regulation. Primarily affected are the armpits, but also the palms or soles of the feet. The cause is increased activity of the sweat glands, independent of temperature or stress. Therapeutic approaches range from medical antiperspirants to botulinum toxin injections to surgical sweat gland removal. Treatment always depends on severity and the individual's quality of life.
