Cross-Linked Hyaluronic Acid

Cross-linked hyaluronic acid consists of molecules that are bonded to one another through chemical processes. These molecules form a stable gel which, once introduced into the skin, is broken down more slowly and can have a shaping effect. Depending on the manufacturing process and composition, the firmness of these gels varies. Some are softer and flexible, others firm and structuring. These properties influence which skin areas we use a product in. Cross-linked hyaluronic acid is used above all for: volume building (e.g. cheeks) contouring (e.g. jawline, chin) wrinkle treatment (e.g. nasolabial fold or marionette lines) Good to know: there is a wide variety of cross-linked hyaluronic acids in the aesthetic and medical field. Differences exist in elasticity, viscosity and cohesivity (adhesion within the skin). The effects and the longevity vary accordingly.
