Modern and Innovative Anti-Ageing Concepts for Women and Men

A youthful and fresh appearance through individual aesthetic treatments and wrinkle injections with Dr. Karl Schuhmann in Düsseldorf
The term anti-ageing has always been on everyone's lips. Nothing is more precious nowadays than a youthful radiance and the preservation of a natural freshness. There are many ways to achieve this, but the art lies in choosing the right path and having the appropriate cosmetic or plastic-surgical procedures carried out.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder – every person has their own ideals and notions of beauty. One person is bothered by a hooked nose, another finds their ears protruding, yet another wishes for fuller and more sensual lips. In today's plastic-aesthetic surgery, there are no limits when it comes to anti-ageing. The procedures at the private practice of Dr. Karl Schuhmann range from minimally invasive and non-surgical treatments to larger plastic-surgical interventions. Here, the patient and doctor discuss together which path to take in order to positively influence the ageing process – with the guarantee that this aesthetic practice works with the most modern techniques and to international quality standards. One thing is certain, alongside years of national and international expertise: at Dr. Schuhmann's practice, the anti-ageing code has been cracked.
Anti-Ageing – Achievable or an Eternal Dream?
Our lives have become more stressful, faster-paced, and above all, environmental influences leave their mark on our faces and skin – put plainly and clearly: we look tired, we look sad, we look exhausted. It is not only the individual wrinkles on the face, but the totality of all traces on the face that make us appear older than we feel. At the private practice of Dr. Karl Schuhmann, the anti-ageing code has been cracked and it is possible to restore your face to its original appearance and slow down your ageing process. Anti-ageing research has made quantum leaps and now enables a fresher, younger, and yet more natural appearance through a variety of procedures.
Dr. Schuhmann on the subject of modern anti-ageing therapy:
"The key to the right anti-ageing therapy goes hand in hand with an understanding of the ageing process itself. In order to achieve good results, one must have understood the ageing process. Only then is it possible to intervene at the right points on the patient's face and body to achieve a rejuvenating effect. This ageing process involves several factors: it is an interplay of loss of skin elasticity, accompanied by volume loss, as well as bone loss. Modern anti-ageing therapy must take all these factors into account and treat them holistically."

Fillers, Botox, and Hyaluronic Acid Against Wrinkles
Fillers such as hyaluronic acid and autologous fat, as well as Botox, rank first among conservative treatments in aesthetic surgery. Botox is the abbreviation for botulinum toxin and has been used medically since the 19th century. It is a neurotoxin that must absolutely be injected beneath the skin by a qualified professional. It reduces facial expression lines by lowering muscle contraction – which is precisely why one should always seek the expert hands of medical specialists such as Dr. Karl Schuhmann. Dr. Schuhmann warns against Botox injections carried out by non-professionals:
"In order to inject correctly and professionally, a sound anatomical knowledge of the face and the human body is a prerequisite. Otherwise, one risks being injected incorrectly, which could have devastating consequences."
Incidentally: Botox can also be used for the treatment of migraines and teeth grinding (Masseter Botox) and against excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in the armpits, hands, and feet.
Facial Rejuvenation with Hyaluronic Acid
For deeper wrinkles, fillers are used, amongst other treatments, at the private practice of Dr. Karl Schuhmann. A filler is something that provides volume to counteract its absence. Fillers such as hyaluronic acid or autologous fat serve this purpose. The so-called hyaluronic acid is a common material used for this. With the hyaluronic acid treatment, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the mouth, or deeper wrinkles are injected. Most of the time, these wrinkles are the result of a general loss of volume in the face. This volume loss can be treated through modern and innovative approaches. In this way, it is possible to guide the patient back towards their original appearance and not in the wrong direction towards an unnatural look.
Innovative Facial Contouring with the Most Modern Methods
Through innovative aesthetic procedures, the faces of both women and men can be positively transformed. In addition to surgical treatments such as a classic facelift or a mid-face lift, non-surgical procedures with hyaluronic acid are also available. These include augmenting the cheekbones, lip contouring, and chin augmentation for a receding chin. The chin-jaw line, known as the jawline, can also be reshaped with hyaluronic acid. With jawline contouring, the chin area is given a beautiful and aesthetic shape again through a professional injection.
Also non-surgical is the so-called eight-point facelift. In the eight-point facelift, hyaluronic acid is deposited at eight points on the face. This restores volume to sagging and sunken areas of the face. Wrinkles are reduced – a natural, complete facelift is achieved through firmness in the facial contour – all without a scalpel. This also applies to lip contouring. Above all, there is a desire for fuller and more sensual lips. These are filled with hyaluronic acid into the desired shape. Lack of lip volume, an uneven lip contour, and even Cupid's bow can all be treated and brought into a more beautiful form. Interest in facial contouring in general is also very great – this includes both widening the facial contour and narrowing the face. Both are possible.
Wrinkle Treatment with Autologous Blood
Men are more frequently interested in a broader facial contour, considered more masculine. Women tend to prefer an oval facial shape. For this, cheekbones and jaw can be injected and modelled with hyaluronic acid. Depending on the hyaluronic acid used, the results last for up to 18 months. Last but not least, there is the Vampire Lift, which also belongs to the non-surgical procedures of plastic-aesthetic surgery. Here, the patient's own blood is used for treatment. Platelet-rich plasma – or Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) – is combined with fillers and injected into the desired areas of the face, neck, or décolletage. Particularly fine needles are used for this. The Vampire Lift strongly stimulates cell renewal and the regeneration of old cells. As a result, the skin texture and firmness of the skin are significantly improved. Sallow and sagging skin thus becomes a thing of the past.
