Gummy Smile

A smile that reveals an excessive amount of gum tissue is referred to as a Gummy Smile. The cause is usually overactivity of the muscles responsible for elevating the upper lip. A minimally invasive treatment with botulinum toxin can reduce this muscular activity. The lip lifts slightly less, whilst the natural facial expression (mimicry) is preserved. The treatment must be repeated after a few months.
