Adiposity

Adiposity describes a pathological form of overweight where body fat percentage is significantly elevated. Classification is based on Body Mass Index (BMI), with values of 30 and above considered obese. Beyond aesthetic aspects, there is an increased risk of secondary conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or joint wear. In plastic surgery, adiposity is particularly relevant for procedures like liposuction or extensive body contouring operations.
