Alongside the medical focus areas, speakers also shed light on the 'how' behind the scenes: practice marketing, online communication, and social media are becoming increasingly important in patient acquisition.

Cosmetic Surgery in the Time of COVID-19

Face mask requirements, working from home, and video calls have noticeably increased interest in subtle facial treatments. Many patients are taking the opportunity to conceal their recovery beneath a mask and are undergoing procedures that had long been on their wish list.

Lifestyle habits during lockdowns also played a role: more cooking, less exercise – and with that, the desire for body contouring. Liposuction procedures reportedly rose by around 60 per cent according to the VDÄPC.
